Throughout the semester, I had many assignments to write all in which were preparation for me to be able to write professionally as an engineer. Some of these assignments are: Memo, Lab Report, Technical Description, Final project proposal, and the different Self- Assessments for each assignment.

For the Memo assignment, I had to write for the president of CCNY to address a specific problem we have as students in CCNY. This assignment has helped me improve my evaluation and integration which is a course learning outcome. Also, for the Lab Report assignment, I had to write about the decomposition of bananas to figure out the most effective method to preserve a banana. This lab report was intended to anybody who wants to learn the best scientific method to preserve a banana. This assignment has helped me improve drafting and editing, in addition to the proper way of APA citation format. Also, for the technical description assignment, I had to write a technical paper about how pens work to reveal more detailed information about how such a simple and important item works to anyone who uses pens to write. This assignment has also helped me to improve drafting and editing in addition to making credible online researches. And finally but not least, for the Final Project Proposal I had to work with a group to come up with a new invention that doesn’t exist yet, which we chose an underground parking garage to show how can such an invention be created, we presented our project for the class but anyone who has a car or who is  an entrepreneur would also want to know more about it. This assignment has helped me improve areas like creativity, research, problem solving, and online database.

In conclusion, all the assignments that I had this semester especially the self-assessments have helped me a lot improve my professional writing skills as a young woman engineer. I noticed that all the assignments were designed in such a way that would help me improve specific areas such as: reading, drafting, revising, editing, and self-assessment. And also practice using various library resources, online databases, and the Internet. As well as improving skills such as self evaluating, peer review, quoting, summarizing, analyzing, and citing sources. I have learned a lot from this class.
